Starting in September 2026, I will join the University of Washington Information School as an Assistant Professor. I received my Ph.D. training in the School of Information Sciences at UIUC, advised by Yang Wang, and my M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Alessandro Acquisti and Cristobal Cheyre.

My broader research interests lie at the intersection of HCI, AI, and security and privacy. My work bridges human factors with system design and development to create human-centered safety, security, and privacy mechanisms for emerging technologies. Across my research, I ask: how can technical systems help people protect themselves, make informed decisions, and maintain well-being in increasingly complex online environments? I use empirical methods, system building, and design research to understand how risks emerge in real use and how systems can better support the people who rely on them.

I actively publish in security and privacy venues including IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, PETS, and SOUPS, as well as HCI venues including CHI and ASSETS. My work has been recognized by a Google PhD Fellowship, MIT EECS Rising Star selection, a Responsible AI Amazon Research Award, a Roblox and Prosocial Design Network grant, and a CHI Best Paper Honorable Mention.
